arine grew up in a sea of fabric. Her house was filled with rolls upon rolls of various styles and textures. Her father was a tailor and her mother was a seamstress. It was already determined at a young age that their daughter would follow in their footsteps.
Or course for a young girl who had an overly active imagination this was quite the fit. Just think of all the elaborate dresses she could create. Before she was taught to sew, she already had a book filled with child like sketches of women's wear, with the occasional doodle of men's clothing. Sewing came naturally to her, however she had shed her fair share of blood over the years.
She was always a dreamer, a hopeless romantic; if she wasn't sewing, she was reading one of those romance novels. One of the things she enjoyed doing was recreating clothing the book described... Some of them were quiet strange, while others were rather breath taking.
When she was ten, her mother had gotten sick, and sadly passed away no more than six weeks later. She was her father's life, and he was not the same afterwards. The business faltered, even when Carine had stepped in to help, but her father's heart was no longer in it.
Ten years later, the business was still struggling, it was as if the heart of it died all those years ago. Carine's father had past, leaving the twenty year old to attempt to run the business on her own. She managed, but just barely... and after four years, she finally had to close the doors. Sell the shop, and with only a few rolls and the little she made with the selling of her parents shop, she finally had to leave. There was nothing left other than broken memories and heartache.
Carine found herself on a ship, sailing to a place called Sin City. Who knows what this place had in store for her...
